This week numerous commemorative events will be taking place across Southern England and France to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

On 6th June, 1944, tens of thousands of men landed in Normandy
taking part in an invasion that kick-started the campaign to liberate Nazi-occupied north-west Europe. The initial assault phase of the invasion was called Operation Neptune and consisted of thousands of vessels, planes and men. Below is a quick snap-shot of Operation Neptune in numbers.
